YOGA AND PREGNANCY

Happy hump day to everyone! Hope your Wednesday is going great so far. Mine started with an hour practice of Ashtanga at a new studio that my friend introduced me to, which I love. At the moment, Matias is napping and looking quite exhausted from his morning at school.
I wanted to do a yoga post and answer to all the people who have been asking me about my practice now that I am pregnant. Also, I am including a promo code to shop my leggings!

After announcing our pregnancy with Gavin, I got asked a lot by friends, relatives, and random  people, if now that I am pregnant I will stop exercising, including yoga. My answer is a clear no. I will keep up my practice, as long as I feel healthy and comfortable, and certainly have no pains specially around the belly area. I have been practicing for over than 10 years, on and off, and I also got pregnant while practicing yoga. In fact, light and moderate exercise has always been a must while pregnant, to help with any pregnancy symptoms and for a much easier recovery postpartum. I do want to clarify that I have adapted my practice to my growing baby and belly/body. There are lots of poses in yoga that I stopped doing just to protect my baby. I know that each body is different than the other, so something that I might still feel ok to do, for another pregnant mom might look like crazy impossible. We are all different, and our practice should be different.
Anyways, about my yoga pants. I get asked all the time while I am wearing them, so I wanted to share a little about the shop behind, and a promo code. The shop is called Altar Ego, a Boston based business, all handmade in the USA, and all their employees are women. #thefutureisfemale right? The leggings fit really nice, mine are size small. If you would like to snag a pair or maybe a top, you can use the code "YogiLina" for a 15% off your entire bill. If you live outside the USA, they do ship internationally.

That's all, now I am off to play with Matias the rest of the afternoon.

xx
