DAY 2 HONG KONG
MATIAS LOOKING AT HONG KONG THROUGH HIS CRIB
SUBWAY RIDE. NEVER A DULL MOMENT

We had a rather relaxing second day in Kowloon, part of Hong Kong on the mainland. We decided to take the subway abit north to Nan Lian Garden and visit Chi Lin Nunnery which is attached to the gardens. It was so relaxing with peaceful music playing around the garden, that even Matias fell asleep the whole time we where there. There were different areas in the garden that represented the hills, trees, and water of nature. One of the main features was a pond in the middle with hundreds of koi fish. I have never seen so many of them all together.
Afterwards, we had lunch at the mall at a jam-packed Vietnamese place, and then headed to the market area. It was way too crowded and loud, specially since we just came from a place that was the exact opposite. Gavin found a bus that took us closer to the hotel, so we were able to see more of the city rather than being underground with the subway.
We went back to the hotel to enjoy some time swimming at the pool (even though it was raining). Then we finished off the day by ordering room service for dinner - it was much easier to eat in the room then looking for a restaurant and we could easily get Matias ready for his bath. We were definitely in a holiday mode, because we gave Matias way too much bread and pizza, ate on the bed, and had the tv on while having dinner. Sometimes you just have to enjoy life, and break the rules a little.
Hope your halloween was great. I will be posting about it soon with pictures of Matias and the family costumes.
