BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PARTNERSHIP

I have the opportunity to partner with ShopStyle Collective x CDFA for Breast Cancer Month awareness. The CDFA foundation is a not-for-profit trade association which has an incredible movement called FTBC (Fashion Targets Breast Cancer). FTBC focuses on raising awareness and funds for women in need of BC detection, as well as providing accurate health information and quality care. The week of October 17th through to the 23rd, FTBC and ShopStyle will be donating part of the revenue made by bloggers when you purchase at ShopStyle affiliated brands. Participating bloggers (myself included) will be donating 10% of the money generated by the blog during this time period.
I wanted to share why I wanted to be involved in this opportunity and why I am so passionate abut breast cancer. I can say I am grateful for overall having good health. I had a few surgeries in my life, and a few of those were related to skin cancer that was detected around a year ago. Even thought the treatments weren't major surgery, I can additionally relate and empathize from hearing the experiences of others. One of my good friends from yoga overcome breast cancer just four years ago. I am so inspired by her passion to stay healthy, fight her disease and not let the cancer control her life. Right now she is fully immersed in doing exercise and keeping a healthy lifestyle. After my own cancer scare, I was eager to re-introduce exercise as a regular part of my life and re-commit to eating a healthy variety of fruits and vegetables. I am very motivated to pass on this healthy lifestyle to Matias and any other children that we might have in the future. Additionally, I need to make sure to teach them how important it is to maintain a healthy body and how to support those who are going through difficult times because of cancer.

Just a friendly reminder on things that you can do to help you live a cancer-free life:
-Eat five servings of fruits and veggies a day.
-Get regular physical activity.
-Maintain a healthy weight.
-Limit your alcohol intake to no more than a drink a day.
-Do not smoke, or stop smoking.

  1. Great cause and yes, worthwhile to support. Re healthy living...... 3 friend of mine were diagnosed with BC last year - two of them real health nuts..... one of them does sport every day, never drinks and eats VERY healthy food; the other one goes to the gym every day....... so yes live style is important, but no guarantee ...... one also needs to live.... e.g. enjoy a glass of wine or two....
