Some weekends ago, I got a Facebook invite from the German association here in KL for a flea market that they organized. A lot of people on the expat groups like to sell their used items to other expats either for reasons of relocation or just to clean their house. I was a little hesitant to go to this market, but I am so glad a did, because I found a box filled with German books for toddlers and kids. If you have been following me for a while, you should know that I love reading books, especially to Matias. We have Spanish and English books at home, but we didn't have German books for Matias. Everyday we read to him at least two books. I read the Spanish ones, and Gavin the English ones. And now, Gavin can read to him German books as well. I am a firm believer that the more languages you expose children at a young age, the better their brains will develop and it will be easier for them to actually speak multiple languages later. Also, I do want Matias to speak my mother tongue, Spanish, and German, in addition to English.
These photos were taken the other day when Papa and his son enjoyed some time together. Gavin always reads to him in Matias' play area, and Matias always pays his full attention to his Papa and the book. Except, when he sees me taking pictures of them both, hehe.
