BABY MJ'S UPDATE

Baby MJ is one month old today! Time really flew fast. I can notice he is getting bigger by his clothes. He is already out growing some of his pajamas and onesies. I have mixed feelings about him growing. On one hand, I would like to keep him this tiny and enjoy him longer this size, but on the other hand, I want to see him grow into the wonderful child and person he is. Sadly, I cannot have the cake and eat it at the same time.
This month we were not only busy handling life and a newborn, but we had so many visits from friends and family. We got so so many presents for Matias, that we probably don't need to buy more clothes for a few more months or toys until he starts to walk.

Here is this month's first Matias update:

How old is he: One month old.
Baby MJ's size: Baby MJ is measuring 54 cm.
Weight gain: He gained one kg in a month with just breast milk. Only the best milk for him.
Best moment this month: There are so many things that I loved this month. We were visited by my in-laws, and they helped us in so many ways, from cooking dinner, to folding laundry, to repairing stuff, to holding Matias while his mama ate dinner.
I also cannot stop thinking on the moment we came home with Matias from the hospital, and the first time Gavin and I had dinner for the first time as a family of three.
Sleep: He loves to sleep on top of anyone, specially when he can hear your heart beat. At night time he goes to sleep in his crib around 10 PM and then wakes up every 3 hours for food. We try to get him to go back to sleep in his crib, but sometimes he needs extra love and attention and his papa will get him out and cuddle with him.
Food: Matias is only breastfeed at the moment.
Movements: Matias is getting better at lifting his head up for 5-10 seconds while he is resting on his belly on top of us. He also loves to crawl up to your neck when you have him on your chest.
Nicknames: Gordito, my little one, Mati, pequeñito.
Mama's experience: One of the most challenging and rewarding experience has been breastfeeding this month. I am so honored to spend those long minutes just with him. Sadly, I have had some struggles with it that I hope will resolve soon. But so far, he eats like a champ.
Looking forward to: My parents are traveling to Malaysia next week to visit us. They will get to meet their new grandchild, and mom and I will get to spend our birthday together (we share the same birthday). Also, I am looking forward to Matias' first smile, and when he is able to hold his head.

Hope you have a great weekend!
