ONE WEEK IN OUR LIVES

OUR FIRST DINNER AS A FAMILY OF THREE

THE HARD LIFE OF THESE TWO

I cannot believe Matias has been in our lives a whole week. It went so fast. It might sound very cheesy, but it seems like yesterday I was being induced, and delivering him. Definitely time flies when we only sleep a few hours per day, and we have a sweet little boy with us, making every day extra special.

On Sunday, I was supposed to have my baby shower, but since Matias came earlier than expected, we invited everyone for an open house to meet him. He was surrounded by all our friends, and enjoyed being held by lots of people.

On Monday, Gavin and I were changing him into his pajamas and his umbilical cord fell out. He was only five days old! That's very soon, but apparently also ok. I get emotional with this, because it already seems like he is growing way to fast. On the bright side, I know we will experience new and wonderful adventures with Matias as he grows up.

Gavin and I are getting used to this new part of our lives, and learning every day new things. Breastfeeding is going well. Matias is eating very well, and we are both getting better at it each day. Gavin has almost recovered from his never-ending cold he got at the hospital. He and Matias enjoy lots of skin-to-skin time whenever possible. I am loving watching them interact and seeing Gavin be the most awesome and loving dad I could ever imagine.

Today we went to Matias' first doctor appointment for his one week check-up. Fortunately, doctor said everything was fine. His weight was good, and only had a little stuffy nose which was normal.

I cannot wait until the weekend, having Gavin back at home "almost" all day to spend with our little Baby MJ.

Hope your week has been going great.

XO
