FAVORITES OF THE WEEK

First week of November is almost gone. How was everyone's week? I read a few blogs where they had a difficult time getting used to to daylight saving. Luckily for us in Malaysia, we never have to change our watches, since it is summer all year long ha.

Our weekend went really well, with a lot of rain in the afternoon, and dinners with friends twice. We scheduled (most of the work was done by Gavin) the itinerary for our next holiday trip. We booked some hotels, and tried to arrange the best possible 12 days of travel before our family expands into a trio.

We hosted a few friends from Gavin's work on Sunday night. We decided to have a small appetizer, and have an easy cooking/dining experience by having a raclette. Gavin's parents gave us the raclette, and we think it is great for small gathers since the food is as delicious as the guests make it (everyone cooks their own food!) I also baked an apple pie from scratch for the first time.

And last but not least, November is Movember. The month where men grow a mustache to raise money (and awareness) for prostate cancer and other men related cancers. This year Gavin wanted to participate by growing his mustache to help raise awareness in Malaysia. He is committed to this cause, and hopefully he can reach his goal. Check out his progress and why not donate some bucks to end cancer.

Some of my favorites pics and finds over the week:

IT'S ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE

I was so eager to see Jimmy Kimmel's halloween prank this year. It's so funny to see the reaction of the kids losing all their halloween candies. You must watch it if you haven't already.

I had never before baked an apple pie, nor made a pie crust from scratch. But since we were having guests over, and I am feeling the fall season in me, I decided to bake one. I used the recipe from Lauren Conrad, and it was delicious. Our guests brought us four types of ice cream (cheesecake, vanilla, passion fruit, and berries) which made the perfect combo with the pie. Check her blog for the detailed recipe.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Best in your new week!
